After sharing on my Instagram how I find Black Friday to be highly overrated, I decided I would show you how I save more money on a regular day rather than waiting for the infamous Black Friday sales.
Online Shopping
1. Honey
I have Honey installed in my browser and whenever I’m about to checkout, I click on the Honey icon and it will automatically apply any discounts available at that time.
A life saver & a time saver!
2. Signing up for emails
I have a burner email I use solely for those “sign up for emails and receive 10-20% off your order!” Really comes in handy!
I also reference this email whenever I am looking for specific sales, they usually send an email.
3. Second-hand / Consignment Sites
If there is ever something I have my eye on, I’ll always first check Poshmark. I can usually find very similar (or the exact same thing!) for wayyy less.
I also consign a lot of my clothes which usually brings in anywhere from $30-300 of extra cash. I sell a lot through Poshmark, The Real Real, and my local consignment store in Jackson, Repeat Street.
Consignment sites I shop on:
Stores that almost ALWAYS have GOOD sales:
- Old Navy
- Gap
- J. Crew
- Vici
- Anthropologie (If you wait, it WILL go on sale. They put things on sale so quickly and I have kicked myself many a time for buying things full price and then seeing it on sale weeks later!)
- Nordstrom Rack (is ALWAYS going to have a better price!)
- Saks Off Fifth
4. Google Search
A lot of times, I have luck finding specific items simply through googling it!
- I google for discount codes / coupons and
- I google for the item I’m looking for to compare prices
5. Follow Bloggers
I follow a lot of bloggers and they often share awesome discount codes!
Some of my favorites to follow I talk about in this blog post!
Shopping In-Store
1. Do your research beforehand
Before you go out shopping, do a little research beforehand and see what stores have what sales.
This makes shopping a lot less overwhelming when you have a good game plan. & you won’t get stressed at the checkout when it’s not the deal or price you thought it was going to be!
2. Sale Racks
This one seems obvious.
However, some people have the eye for sales racks and others do not.
Determining whether it’s a good deal or not depends on what it is, how often it will be used, and the price it was originally.
What are some ways you like to save money shopping?
