Hi y’all! This past weekend, Grant and I took a quick little one night trip to Austin to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary!
I shared some pics and stories on my IG but wanted to share a little recap here on the blog. I’ll also include all of the recommendations I received from y’all as well 🙂
We drove to Austin on Saturday just in time for brunch at Elizabeth Street cafe.
Grant had the french toast and I had the crispy pork and egg Banh Mi with avocado! We also shared a delicious croissant 🙂
After brunch, we took Remi to Lady Bird Lake to run around and get some energy out before we checked in to the hotel at 3pm. We also grabbed some water and hung out at Mozart’s Coffee too!
We stayed at The Loren At Lady Bird Lake and had a wonderful experience! It’s a new hotel in a prime location (especially for dog owners!) we were able to walk everywhere.
We showered and got dressed for dinner and then headed up to the top floor of the hotel where we had a dinner reservation at Nido.
They brought us complimentary champagne for our anniversary which was so thoughtful!
The burrata was absolutely my favorite dish of the night! The kitchen was a little backed up (or something like that) and we didn’t end up getting our other 3 dishes until about an hour after the burrata…
However, one of the managers ended up delivering the 3 dishes that took a while and she comped the 3 dishes that arrived late! We totally didn’t mind at all — we were just happy to have some alone time and could have sat there all night! But it was very kind of them nonetheless.
Sunday morning, we woke up and took Remi over to the park where she played and played with all of the other dogs.
The off-leash areas are SO nice and the dogs and dog owners were all so kind and down-to-earth. We all (Remi included) really enjoyed that.
After we tuckered Remi out, we got dressed and headed back up to Nido for brunch! It was just as fantastic as dinner and the views don’t get old!
After brunch, we swung by the cafe in the hotel and I grabbed a croissant for the road. I like to have snacks on hand at all times! 🙂
After brunch, we changed clothes and packed up to head back home to Dallas.
We explored a little bit more and ended up picking up Torchy’s and taking it to Zilker Park to eat while Remi ran around before hopping back in the car.
It was such a beautiful day and Remi was living her best life!! She says she can’t want to come back to Austin.
