Y’all already know that this time of year it can be difficult to keep a healthy glow… and there’s nothing more depressing than looking pasty!!
There is just something about applying self tanner in the winter that gives me a huge confidence boost! Anyone else the same way?!
I reviewed the Isle of Paradise Self Tanner a while ago (link to the post here) and really enjoyed it!
However, I was starting to run out of my Isle of Paradise drops and Golden Star Beauty reached out to me at the perfect time and asked if I would like to try their products!
The first thing that got me excited about trying their products is that they are all organic and free of harsh chemicals, cosmetic colors, gluten, and parabens. They are also vegan & made in the USA!
Here are the 2 products I tried:
The one thing I dislike the most about self tanner is the smell.
I can honestly say I was SHOCKED when I put this on and it didn’t smell like self tanner.
Now, it does still have a scent. However, it smells good IMO! It didn’t bother me or Grant! (he usually can’t stand it)
I applied both of these products like I would any other self tanner: At night before bed- shower, shave, exfoliate, dry off, moisturize, then apply self tanner all over (lightly applying around places like knees, elbows, and feet.) Wait 10-15 mins for product to dry before putting on clothes.
Since this tanner doesn’t come in shades, it’s easy to build a natural looking tan with each use.
I love that the dry oil contains jojoba oil, avocado oil, macadamia oil, evening primrose oil, and hyaluronic acid — all good things that I’ve used on my skin before in different forms!
The facial serum also contains ingredients I love like rosehip oil, vitamin B 5, and hyaluronic acid.
If we are being honest, I was very skeptical about how well this would work with so many clean ingredients… sometimes they don’t do the trick!
However, I was pleasantly surprised with how it didn’t smell like strong chemicals and was able to create an even, natural-looking tan.
I also found that it didn’t come off on clothing, towels, sheets, etc. Amazing!
I will definitely be repurchasing and can’t recommend enough!
