We just received the last batch of our wedding photos! I still can’t believe how fast our wedding weekend and these first 5 months of marriage have flown by!
It feels like a year ago and yesterday all at the same time.
As you’ve probably heard me rave about before, Ashley Schurch did our photos and she did a fantastic job! She shoots a mix of digital & film and the film takes a little longer to get back — but so worth it!
The full story of how we adjusted to COVID-19 2 weeks out from the wedding is in this blog post!
We held our intimate rehearsal dinner at the house I grew up in on July 30th, 2020.
My dress is linked here, but let me tell you, I did NOT pay full price. I found it on major major sale and snagged it last minute! It was very hot, but at the time I bought it, the plan was to have the dinner in an air conditioned venue.
Our sweet cat, Socks. We are not cat people AT ALL, but this cat is different. We love him so much.
After our rehearsal at the chapel, our guests gathered in the garden for cocktails & hors d’oeuvres.
We had yummy flatbreads coming out of the pizza oven that were delish!
Our chickens in the chicken coop. lol
After cocktail hour, we all made our way down to the pool where we were seated for dinner.
We mixed old & new ginger jars and the flowers were cut from our garden.
Derek & Jennifer Emerson catered the food and it was absolutely incredible!
We ate off of my mom’s beautiful collection of mismatched blue & white plates.
For dessert, we had creme brûlée & champagne for toasts!
Sweetest little sister & maid of honor! She gave the best speech and I wish I could replay it over and over. <3
After several friends gave toasts, Grant -completely on the fly- gave the most incredible toast talking about how we met, all the gushy stuff, etc. He had us all in tears!
I wish I could’ve wrapped up every toast, tucked them in my pocket, and keep them forever! Every word spoken that night was so kind, so special, and we will never forget it.
Our rehearsal dinner ended up being more than I ever imagined it could be. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy the night as much as I did! I had so many other things on my plate I was worrying about that I kind of forgot about all the festivities happening the day before the wedding.
After our rehearsal dinner, some dear friends threw a Post Toast for us that was held outside at a venue close to my house. This is where we got to see more of our college friends who didn’t come to the rehearsal dinner.
I might be biased, but I would highly recommend having a small rehearsal dinner with post toast after. I loved this because I truly got a chance to talk to almost everyone which made it less overwhelming at the wedding the next day.
This allowed us to have some actual conversations with people who we hadn’t seen in a long time. Grant and I both agree it was so fun and such a great night leading up to our big day!
