Hi y’all! As some of you know, a cousin of mine got married in Nantucket a couple weekends ago and I thought it would be fun to share a little recap with you!
If you want to see the video version of the weekend (highly recommend) you can watch it on my YouTube Channel here!
It was my family’s first time to go to Nantucket and we completely fell in love with it.
It’s also amazing how close it is to us now, living in Boston! I see many more trips to ACK in our future 🙂
Thursday Afternoon
We arrived in Nantucket and took a taxi to meet my family at the Chestnut House, which is where we stayed for the weekend.
The Chestnut House is a cozy little inn that only had 5 rooms which was perfect because my family filled up each room so we pretty much had the place to ourselves!
The location was absolutely perfect– right in the middle of downtown and walkable to pretty much everything.
After we dropped our things off at the hotel, we grabbed some coffee with my parents, and then went back to the hotel to grab a sweatshirt for our evening boat ride we had planned.
My mom and dad picked up a perfect little cheese & wine basket to nibble on while on our boat ride.
Our driver told us that rain was coming soon so we did an abbreviated ride right before it started to pour.
After our ride, we had dinner at Slip 14 — casual spot with fabulous food!
Friday
Friday morning, Grant was in meetings for work so my sister and I went to Born and Bread and had the best breakfast sandwich on their homemade sourdough bread!
Afterwards, we strolled around a bit and waited for Grant to finish up his meetings.
Later, Grant & I grabbed a sandwich from Provisions and then headed to Brant Point Lighthouse to take some pictures.
After snapping some stunning pics, we headed back to the hotel to shower, change, and get ready for the rehearsal dinner.
Of course, there are beautiful bushes of hydrangeas everywhere! I couldn’t help but take loads of pictures of them!
The dress I wore is about 2 years old from ASOS!
The rehearsal dinner was held on the waterfront of Brant Point Grille at the White Elephant. (SO fabulous!)
All of the tables had bright, happy flower arrangements, personalized monogrammed linen napkins, and personalized hand painted oyster shell place settings that double as a Christmas ornament (which my aunt made!)
Rehearsal dinners are my favorite and this one was no different — friends and family had such wonderful things to say about the bride & groom and it was so touching!
After the dinner and toasts, there was a welcome party at the same location for more guests to come and mix and mingle.
Saturday
Saturday morning, I took Grant with me back to Born and Bread and got the amazing breakfast sandwiches again!
While letting our breakfast digest, we walked around some more and picked up some Nantucket gear from one of the many tourist stores.
Then we picked up my sister from the hotel and went and took pictures at this cute little spot — not sure if it has a specific name but so many bloggers take pictures here!
Afterward, we decided to hop on a bus to go to Madaket Beach for lunch.
Madaket was about a 20 minute bus ride and it dropped us off right at the beach and right beside Millie’s where we ate lunch.
Grant got a quesadilla, my sister got tacos, and I had Halibut ceviche!
Then, we hopped back on the bus and went back to town to start getting ready for the wedding which was at 4:00 PM.
My sister and I went back to the same location we went to earlier that day to take some more pictures before the wedding festivities.
We then headed to the buses which took us to the wedding ceremony that was held at Siasconset Union Chapel and then to the reception at the Westmoor Club.
The dreamiest country club I’ve ever seen!!
& the most beautiful tent I have ever seen!
We enjoyed delicious appetizers, oysters, dinner, drinks, and then burned it all off with lots of dancing!
Then, we loaded up the buses and continued the party over at Cru where we were met when even more food, drinks, and dancing!
Sunday
Sunday morning we grabbed bagels & coffee from The Hub and said goodbye to my parents & sister whose flight was earlier then the rest of ours.
My brothers, Grant, and I walked around and killed sometime before heading to the airport to catch our flights.
Until next time!
