Hi y’all! Today we are covering my honest review of the Drybar One Shot & the Revlon One Step hairdryers.
I have been the biggest fan of the Revlon One Step ever since my roommate in college convinced me to get one after me asking her repeatedly why her hair looks so good– lol!
However, I was recently gifted the Drybar One Shot hairdryer and I thought I would share my personal experiences of the two.
Revlon:
First of all, the Revlon one step was my one true love. I do still love it.
And for only $60? I does a fantastic job.
However, a close friend of mine recently told me that hers caught on fire… which leads me to another thought I have about the Revlon — it gets VERY hot.
Like, uncontrollably hot.
I try to be intentional with letting my hair air dry to about 80% and then start blow drying to avoid that burnt hair smell…
Another con with the Relvon is that is is pretty heavy to hold and my arms get tired holding it.
Overall, the results and drying time are amazing and it works wonders on my hair to achieve the perfect blowout look.
Drybar:
My first impression of the Drybar was that it was so much lighter to hold than the Revlon.
It is a little bit more of an investment at $150. They also make a double shot which is a little bit bigger of a barrel– Not sure if that’s the only difference but it is also $150.
At first, I found that my hair got more tangled with the Drybar brush because the bristles are further spread apart and it doesn’t have that extra brush padding that the Revlon has.
However, after several uses now, I don’t notice tangling at all.
Drybar definitely doesn’t get as scorching hot as the Relvon and I feel like there would be zero possibility of it catching on fire…
I also feel like the Drybar one is able to get closer to the root of my head– creating a fully dry blowout, whereas I felt like the Relvon wouldn’t dry my roots as well.
In Conclusion,
I haven’t seen a drastic difference in the end results.
If you have the extra money for the Drybar — do it. If you’re balling on a budget, the Revlon is great too.
If you’ve tried both — what are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments!
Thanks for reading!
